Summer season in the Hardangerfjord
The Hardangerfjord is the second longest fjord in Norway often refeered to the Queen of the Norwegian fjords.It stretches 180 kilometers from the coast south of Bergen deep into the Norwegian heartlands and high mountains.
Activities
In the summer season Hardangerfjord Adventure offers RIB fjord safaris guided hikes and different combination tours on and around the Hardangerfjord.
The RIB fjord safaris is offered both as daily scheduled departures and private small group tours on reguest from our bases in Norheimsund, Øystese and Ulvik. We have scheduled departures from Norheimsund from mid January throughout November, from Øystese and Ulvik from May throughout September. Private tours can be booked all days from May throughout September from all 3 bases or from other ports/hotels in the region.
Our
guided hikes
is operated in the area around Norheimsund and Øystese from May to September. All the hikes are private and are customized to each group (max 8 people) and are conducted in landscapes with either mountain lakes, fjord viewpoints or higher summits.
For all our private tours we can offer pick-up on request by minivan from towns/cities like Bergen, Voss or Odda.
RIB fjord safaris
Our bases in Norheimsund and Øystese is situated 80-90 minutes from Bergen midway into the Hardangerfjord. The RIB safaris from these bases goes to the Hardangerfjord branch Fyksesund. This beautiful branch is the most narrow part of the whole Hardangerfjord and during the snow melting period (May-June) and on rainy days this branch offers several stunning waterfalls.
Our base in Ulvik is situated in the inner part of the Hardangerfjord and is reachable by bus from Voss (55 minutes) or 30-45 minutes by car from Eidfjord or Lofthus. The RIB safaris from Ulvik goes out to the Osafjord branch and the Hardanger bridge. The Osafjord offers magical fjord scenery surrounded by towering mountains.
