About us
The beginning
Hardangerfjord Adventure AS was founded in the fall of 2018 by mainly owners from the tourism industry in the municipalities of Ullensvang (former Jondal) and Kvam in Hardanger.
Here we can name the owners of Kramsjø B&B in Herand, Hardanger House in Jondal, Hardingasete at Ljones, Thon Hotel Sandven in Norheimsund, Hardangerfjord Hotel in Øystese and Hardanger Aqua Centre in Øystese/Steinstø.

The project
Hardangerfjord Adventure started as a project idea of providing more experiences for visiting guests to the mid/central part of the Hardangerfjord.
Our first strategy was to offer fjord safaris on the Hardangerfjord with Rigid Inflatable Boats (RIBs).
By working together with our owners since the beginning we have developed several combined products and pre-packed days. Today we offer/operate both fjord safaris, guided hiking tours, ski touring and pre-packed days together with several trusted partners.
Through our partner collaborations, we also offer tailored half-day, full-day, and multi-day packages that include activities, accommodation, meals, and transport. Today, we design customized trips to the Hardangerfjord for leisure groups, corporate groups, and incentive groups.
Expanding
In 2023 we expanded with a summer base in Ulvik municipality. And we now offer RIB tours with two RIB's all year round.
Several new owners came into the company like Brakanes hotel, Hardanger guesthouse and the "Fruit and cider route" in Ulvik, and Vøringsfoss hotel in Eidfjord.

Our Vision and Values
At Hardangerfjord Adventure, our vision is to offer unique insights into the fjord landscape and life along the Hardangerfjord. We want our guests to experience more than just the views — to truly feel the pulse of the fjord, the traditions of the villages, and the rhythm of daily life along its shores.
Our mission is to cultivate sustainable tourism and community growth. We believe that responsible travel should benefit both visitors and locals, and that the natural beauty of Hardanger must be protected for future generations. By working closely with local partners, accommodations, farms, and guides, we help ensure that the value of tourism stays within the region and strengthens the communities we are part of.
Local Guides
– Living Stories
Our guides are more than skilled boat captains – they are storytellers and true ambassadors of the Hardangerfjord. To us, the fjord is not just a place, but part of our everyday life and our identity. It’s something you have to be here to truly feel, and our guides are here to share that feeling with you.
Rooted in the local community and driven by a genuine love for the fjord, the mountains, and the people, our guides make every tour personal and memorable. They know the history, the nature, and life along the fjord – from old trading routes and fruit-growing traditions to glaciers, waterfalls, and the ever-changing fjord weather. When they talk about the landscape you travel through, they do so with engagement, insight, and deep respect for the nature around us.
What truly sets our guides apart is their personal connection to the Hardangerfjord. They know where the sun appears first, why the fjord changes from day to day, and which stories still live along the shoreline. Whether speeding across the fjord or sharing quiet moments with the engine idling, our guides want to give you more than just an experience – they want to give you a deeper understanding of the Hardangerfjord that you take home with you.
Looking Ahead
Hardangerfjord Adventure continues to grow with new experiences and destinations across the fjord. Our goal is to become the leading activity provider in the region, known for high-quality service, authentic encounters, and unforgettable fjord adventures — all year round.
