RIB Safari
Explore Hardangerfjord All Year Round
Experience the thrill of the Hardangerfjord from the sea on one of our RIB safaris.
Whether it’s summer or winter, our tours take you deep into the fjord’s most stunning and secluded branches — places few ever get to see.
Seasonal bases
From our
main base in
Norheimsund, we operate all year round.
Located 80–90 minutes from Bergen at Thon Hotel Sandven, this base is the heart of our RIB adventures.
During the main season (May–September), we also operate from Øystese and Ulvik. Our Øystese base, located at Hardangerfjord Hotel. Our Ulvik base, located at Brakanes Hotel just 55–60 minutes from Voss.
Our Summer RIB Safaris
From Øystese and Norheimsund, we explore the spectacular Fyksesund — where steep cliffs and cascading waterfalls create an unforgettable fjord experience.
During snowmelt and rainy days, countless waterfalls rush down the mountain sides, making this one of Hardangerfjord’s most dramatic sights.
From
Ulvik, our summer tours venture into Osafjord, Eidfjord, and Simadalsfjord.
These branches reveal a softer, more serene side of Hardanger — surrounded by towering peaks, crystal-clear waters, and untouched wilderness.
We also offer private RIB safaris and charter trips from hotels and locations all along the Hardangerfjord.
Our Winter RIB Safaris
When winter arrives, Norheimsund remains our base of adventure.
Our winter safaris take you into Fyksesund, where snow-covered mountains and icy cliffs reflect in the still fjord waters. On the coldest days, parts of the branch may even freeze — a rare and magical sight that few ever witness.
We also offer
private winter safaris and
charter tours from Norheimsund and nearby hotels.
What is a RIB?
A RIB, or rigid inflatable boat, is a remarkably stable vessel that combines a tough, rigid hull with inflatable tubes. This hybrid design delivers a smooth, comfortable ride in a wide range of sea conditions—perfect for families, photographers, wildlife enthusiasts, or anyone seeking an unforgettable way to explore the Hardangerfjord. Our boats feature 12 padded saddle seats, and with 600 horsepower under the hood, you can soar across the water at speeds up to 50 knots, wind in your hair and a smile on your face.
Yet our RIB tours offer more than just heart-pounding excitement. They open the door to Hardangerfjord’s hidden gems—places you can’t reach by land. Glide past secluded beaches, slip into remote coves, and see local marine life up close. It’s a thrilling, immersive journey that showcases the breathtaking beauty of this iconic Norwegian fjord.

Tours from Øystese and Norheimsund
These two neighbor townships lays by the Hardangerfjord only 7 km apart. Both are easily accessible by public transport (80 to 90 minutes) from Bergen city or Voss town. The journey itself is a senic drive!
Our bases is situated at Thon Hotel Sandven in Norheimsund and Hardangerfjord hotel in Øystese where we conduct RIB safari boat tours, guided hikes and different combination of tours.
