Fjord safari with RIB and hidden gem guided viewpoint hike (private group)

4 hours

Easy

Experience the magic of Fyksesund and the roadless village of Botnen through a private RIB safari and hike to a hidden gem of a viewpoint.

The tour first goes out to the main fjord before driving into the Fyksesund fjord branch - the narrowest part of the Hardangerfjord.

In Fyksesund, you will be surrounded by steep 1000 meter high mountains where the captain and guide will stop several places to let this unique fjord landscape sink in, and to give you fascinating facts about the fjord and the people who used to live here.

Fyksesund is also a great place with countless waterfalls that we drive all the way up to and you will feel the waterfall spray up close. At the end of the fjord arm, we go ashore in the roadless and authentic cultural landscape in the village of Botnen - a geographically isolated local community with historical wide cultural contact with the outside world.

In Botnen, we walk through a fantastic cultural landscape where people have lived for the last 400 years on the way to a local viewpoint: Along the way, you get an insight into how people made a living here and important history from the place. After 2 km on a gravel road and hiking trail, we arrive at the viewpoint "Furehaugen" 180 meters above sea level where you can enjoy a view over the majestic fjord landscape of Fyksesund and the village of Botnen. The place is truly a hidden gem that has only been visited by people connected to Botnen. Here it's worth having your camera ready!

Once back down by the fjordside, we board our RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat) and drive back through a fantastic fjord landscape. This tour is a magical and interesting experience for everyone - an adventure in some of the most beautiful fjord landscapes in Norway. Bring your family, friends, or colleagues to a truly hidden gem in the Norwegian fjords!
