Hardanger Maritime center

During the guided tour of the Hardanger Maritime center, you can hear the sound of craftsmen at work, smell fresh materials, tar, ropes and glowing wrought iron. You get the story “when the fjord was the road”. The maritime museum is considered by many to be among the best in the whole of the Nordic region!

Steinsdalsfossen Waterfall

The tour goes further by minibus / minivan spectacular Steinsdalsfossen waterfall. Here you can walk behind the waterfall without getting wet. The road continues in behind the waterfall and to a lookout point on the other side – with beautiful views towards Norheimsund and over the entire Steinsdalen. The waterfall, with its 50 meter high fall, is among the most popular attractions in all of Norway.

Hardanger Akvasenter

From Steinsdalsfossen, the journey continues by minibus / minivan to Øystese and the exhibition at Hardanger Akvasenter – a visitor centre for fish farming. You will get a guided tour of the interactive exhibition “This is where I live”. Very engaging for both children and adults!

Fjord safari with RIB – Hardangerfjord Adventure

Next door to Hardanger Akvasenter is the base of Hardangerfjord Adventure, which will take you on a RIB boat trip on the Hardangerfjord. A good tip is to have the camera ready, because here you will visit the beautiful fjord pearls Herand, Fyksesund and Kvamsøy – only reachable by boat!

Lunch and cider tasting – Spildegarden

After the RIB tour, you walk 600 meters up to Spildegarden fruit farm. This family business has long traditions in fruit production, and now they are fully investing in the development of first-class apple juice and ciders. The farm has its own restaurant where you get to taste 3 different ciders and a light lunch consisting of cured meats, cheese and house bread.
