Guided hikes in Hardanger

Hardanger is an eldorado when it comes to hiking and trekking. In the region you will find several of the most popular spots in all of Norway, but here there are also many unknown hidden gems and fantastic hiking destinations.

Hardangerfjord Adventure offers guided tours on request to local gems, farmsteads, viewpoints and defined mountain peaks in the middle part of the Hardangerfjord close tom townships like  Norheimsund, Øystese, Strandebarm and Jondal. In this area, we mostly get to go in peace and quiet with local guides in beautiful fjord landscapes.

We offer private tours with our own guide and are happy to customize the hike exactly the way you want it!

Viewpoint or lakeside hikes (2-3 hours)

These are easier hikes that are well suited for both families, beginners and small groups. The tours go either largely on gravel roads and/or paths to a lake without a major ascent, or shorter walks with an ascent up easily accessible viewpoints with great views.

Lake Fitjadalsvatnet, Lake Krokavatn, Skårsete and Vikedalsnebbet can be named as several of our guides’ favorites.

Summit hikes (3-5 hours)

These are hikes that gives a superb view over the beautiful Hardanger fjord or valley landscapes! The tours are well suited to those with a normal fitness level and smaller groups. We start around 250-400 masl and moves on paths up magnificent summit views on mountain peaks at 900-1100 masl.

On these hikes we often go to the local favorites like Mt. Torefjell, Mt. Tørvikanuten and Mt. Klyvenuten.

Mountain hikes (5-10 hours)

Challenging and longer mountain hikes that either provides panoramic view over fjord/mountain landscape or special views over fjord branches and valleys! The tours are well suited for those with a good fitness level and smaller groups. These are longer hikes of 15-25 km where we move up to peaks of 800-1400 masl.

These tours are cstomized each group, but often one of the guide’s favorites like Mt. Vikanuten, Kiellandbu, Mt. Fuglafjell or Mt. Manfjell is on the itinerary.
